Since its redevelopment, Potsdamer Platz has reclaimed its status as one of Berlin’s liveliest squares. And at the heart of the architectural ensemble that marks the square out is the Sony Centre, a true product of the 90s and all about technology. Inspired by Mount Fuji, inside are Sony’s European headquarters, independent cinemas and entertainment stores, and a colourful nightly-erupting volcano. Who said postmodernism is dead?
